The exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards 2024, which opened in Barcelona and has travelled to Madrid, Vienna, Prague, and Wroclaw, is now stopping in Timisoara.

The venue is the MX – Miklosi Tram Museum, hosted by the MultipeXity Center for Art, Technology and Experimentation, housed in a building constructed in 1927 as a repair hall.

The exhibition presents the 362 nominated works of this edition, highlighting the 40 works shortlisted by the jury and providing more detailed and extensive information about the winners and finalists. It shows how architects want to express their own ideas and exploit the potential of what architecture can become in a radically changing society. It is a faithful picture of what architecture is today concerning society.

Among the works is the shortlisted Nursery 1306 in Timișoara by Maio, Studio Nomadic and Studio Peisaj, as well as 8 other works built in Romania, all presented in the exhibition.
At the inauguration we were able to count on the presence of Dominic Fritz, Mayor of Timisoara, Ramona Chiriac, Head of EC representation in Romania, Alexandra Trofin, Coordinator of Betaa in a round table entitled "Architecture as an agent of change", by Cosmina Goagea (Co-founder of Zeppelin), Alfredo Lérida (Maio Architects), Daniel Tellman (President of the Order of Romanian Architects - Timiș branch) and Ivan Blasi (Director of the EUmies Awards) which was followed by a second round table entitled "The legacy of the nursery: 1306 plants for Timișoara" and which are complemented by two guided tours of the exhibition to which we invite you on June 12 and 19.
